Article on linkage between insurgencies and environmental degradation - especially in Afghanistan, also mentioning Peru and Nepal: How the environment is undoing Karzai
(Extreme examples of what can happen when people's local environment wrecked - even if they're partly responsible. Here in HK, happily a long way from this, but do have some places where residents disgruntled coz of air pollution etc, spurring a little activism.)
