History of Hong Kong fauna 1841-1941: Information needed.

I wonder if anyone can help? I am investigating reports relating to the history of Hong Kong wildlife in old English language newspapers and books between 1841 and 1941 with Jon Downes of the Centre for Fortean Zoology based in Devon, U.K. We have been looking through issues of the South China Morning Post,for example from about 1910 onwards and The Hong Kong Kong Naturalist  since the early 1990s onwards and hope to publish our research in the form of a book  on Hong Kong`s fauna by the end of 2012. We are well aware that many books on Hong Kong`s fauna have been published already but the difference with our book is that we are looking at information that has been overlooked or discounted as being too bizarre or improbable for whatever reason.

Both myself and Downes lived in Hong Kong from the mid 1960s until the mid 1980s and became interested in Hong Kong`s wildlife as children. We have already discovered reports of crocodiles in Hong Kong waters up to at least 1912, wolves, tigers, a sea serpent, a giant salamander and others.Any other reports from yourselves from 1841-1941 would be grately appreciated.
