Po Toi Island

Info from Hong Kong's Great Outdoors

Small, granite island with hulking hills ringed by a stark yet dramatic coastline with an old fishing hamlet clinging to the one sheltered cove. There are trails to hilltops, and to the tip of the dramatic southern headland. Superb for migratory birds, including species rare in Hong Kong. Seafood restaurants serve hikers, and junk parties who amble over from a pier.

Ferry on Sundays and public holidays from pier at  Stanley, which is served by bus 6A from Central, 63/65 from North Point and 14 from Sai Wan Ho; or 10-15 minutes walk south of Stanley bus terminus, served by these buses plus 6, 6X and 260 from Central. Also ferries from Aberdeen.
