The coming Hike for Hospice 2011 is set on Sunday 27 February 2011 at Tai Lam Country park.
Hike for Hospice has been organising for 19 years with over 500 hikers participated every year. Many of them are from different sectors such as legal, accounting, insurance, banking, finance, medical and property development etc. They share the common goal when hiking the hills - to lend their support to the terminal patients and families losing their loved one.
Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care is a non-subvented charity organisation, Hike for Hospice has become one of its fundraisers to maintain and develop its services. In the past year, the Society has trained up over 2,000 frontline care workers and professionals to be equipped with skills to care for the terminal patients, provided over 1,000 counselling sessions to the bereaved to cope with their grief and loss. It has also organised talks, workshops and exhibitions to increase the awareness of the needs of the terminal patients and deliver a positive life message to the public.
