Info from Hong Kong’s Great Outdoors
Old fort at Fan Lau on the southern tip, near small but mysterious stone circle. “Hidden” waterfall above Yi O. Within the hills are a dragon statue atop a boulder above a temple, and a Hong Kong folly – Ng Yuen, a Chinese landscaped garden. One of Hong Kong’s most beautiful temples, Kwun Yam, is near the main road.
Bus 1 from Mui Wo ferry pier towards Tai O, and either follow Lantau Trail or – for an easier route into the hills – first walk alongside a water catchment channel below Kwun Yam Temple, then up to Ng Yuen.
