Silver Mine Waterfalls, Lantau

silvermine fallThe Silver Mine Waterfall at Mui Wo, eastern Lantau, is one of the most easily reached of Hong Kong's best waterfalls. It's accessible by strolling gentle trails, passing the beach, village houses, fields and woodland. There's an even better "hidden" fall above.

Mui Wo - Silvermine Bay

Info from Hong Kong's Great Outdoors

A collection of villages and hamlets, with a beach, fields, and a small wetland that’s home to egrets. At the foot of hills in northwest of Mui Wo is the fine Silvermine Waterfall – where a steep track leads up past the old entrance to an abandoned Silver Mine.

South Lantau Bus

My farourite Hong Kong bus ride is east from Mui Wo to Ngong Ping, heading along the south coast of Lantau Island, then up into the hills.

Hong Kong Ferries

There are two major ferry companies serving islands in HK: New World First Ferry, and HKKF - the Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry. Also, some smaller companies serve other routes, including to small islands.
