Quote:On behalf of the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (“HKBCF”), we write to invite your organisation to join the 6th breast cancer awareness walkathon, “Pink Walk Against Breast Cancer 2010” (the “Walkathon”) which will be held on 3 October 2010 (Sunday) at the Peak. Through participation, we hope you and your staff will not only be more aware of the importance of Breast Health and threat of Breast Cancer but will also help promote the message amongst women in the community.

HKBCF is a non-profit charitable organisation dedicated to eliminating the threat of breast cancer in our community through public education, patient support and research-based advocacy. At the HKBCF, we strive for a society free from the threat of breast cancer where everyone can live full and healthy lives.

The Walkathon, our annual event, raises both breast cancer awareness and funds to support the works of HKBCF. Last October, some 800 supporters from schools, companies and community joined the Walkathon. This year, we are looking to enriching the event to cater for more participants to support our cause.

Your Support Does Make a Meaningful Difference!

Join us by:
    Teaming up and enrolling in the Walkathon 2010. Mobilise your staff/ members to join our fundraising efforts in a fun and educational manner! We will assist and provide you with support. This can be a way of engaging your staff and members in your team-building and social responsibility initiatives.

    Organising a “Breast Health Awareness Week” in your organisation in October. We can provide posters, educational materials and run educational talks to promote health and well-being amongst your staff.

An Imminent Call
Breast cancer not only affects women/men but also their children, families and communities. In Hong Kong, breast cancer is the number one cancer affecting woman.  Every year, 2,700 people are diagnosed with breast cancer . One in 20 women has a chance to be touched by breast cancer in their lifetime.  Eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer and at least one woman dies from the disease every day. The youngest patient is under 20 years old.
