Severe Tropical Storm Kammuri

Severe Tropical Storm Kammuri just hit Hong Kong; not direct, but caused gales n storm force winds, and Number 8 signal in force for much of daytime today, 6 August.
I took this yesterday, at Shek O - Kammuri still brewing, and some distance away, but good swell, w surf on rocks.
Here's another shot, with wave rolling in towards tip of Shek O Headland.
- and, here's a little video footage I shot.
Kammuri on 6 Aug

Today, a stronger Kammuri passed within 140km of Hong Kong (to southwest) - especially in morning and early aft, brought some powerful winds, and squally showers. Here are photos from s coast of Cheung Chau, as surf hit rocks there too. (Cheung Chau's more sheltered than Shek O, as islands to south - but still good waves today).
- and here, video I shot on Cheung Chau this morning.
