Photos of Siberian House Martin and Asian House Martin in Hong Kong

Siberian House Martin (Delichon lagopodum) and Asian House Martin (Delichon dasypus), Pui O, Lantau, 25 October 2025

Siberian has clean white underparts – rather than sullied with grey, big white rump patch, near uniform underwing (not darker secondaries ie forewing), clearly forked tail.

[Oddly, in these, Siberian flying to right and Asian to left, haha]

Both species can be seen in late autumn and early winter in Hong Kong; perhaps mostly after intense surges of the northeast monsoon. Also spring passage of Asian House Martin.
