I would be grateful if people could respond to this forum and discuss their views on this potential health issue.
With the increase in pleasure vessel traffic to some of Hong Kong’s stunning bays (Long Kei Wan, Millionaires Beach, Bluff Island and Stanley Drago Boat Race Day), there is concern for the amount of untreated human sewage that is directly flushed from the vessels (junks, ferries etc) into the recreational swiming zone. Vessels are not required by HK law (?) to have marine sanitation devices onboard (unlike any other developed country) due to size limitations.
Whatever is flushed from the boat either sinks to the bottom or floats around and is eaten by fish.
      Have your say.
