West Kowloon Cultural District is a pleasant waterfront park

Though primarily established for arts and culture, and with museums including M+ (contemporary modern art) and the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the West Kowloon Cultural District is well worth visiting just to enjoy a waterfront park – including in late afternoon when there may be fine views of sunset over the western harbour.
Set on reclaimed land northwest of Tsim Sha Tsui, it was rather a pain to visit, reached by walking from near Kowloon Station in Elements mall. But it’s now just a short ferry ride from Pier 9 in Central, along with being served by “Water Taxis”, which are ferries serving fixed routes rather than heading to destinations of your choosing.

Paths lead by lawns where it seems you’re welcome to wander and sit, rather than having to keep off the grass as is common in Hong Kong parks. A waterfront promenade passes bars, restaurants, a food truck and more, with plenty of places where you may sit to enjoy harbour views, and perhaps catch the sunset.
